Announcement posted by Beauty Expo Australia 23 Aug 2017

Australia’s premier professional beauty event, Beauty Expo Australia, is set to hit the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney this weekend.

Media release - Wednesday 23 August 2017, Sydney: Australia’s premier professional beauty event, Beauty Expo Australia, is set to hit the International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney this weekend (26-27 August) for two days of everything skincare, cosmetics, nails, medi, spa, and wellness.

The event’s return to its Darling Harbour home in 2017 has proven a lucrative drawcard for exhibitors and visitors alike, as evidenced by a huge 40 per cent increase in floor space from the 2016 show. With more brands set to showcase multiple products and innovations from the world of professional beauty, the expo's educational seminars and floor passes have been selling quickly.

Internationally renowned educators are touching down in Sydney in the coming days for Beauty Expo, where they will share their skills in makeup, dermal therapy, nails, and grooming. Visitors will also have the opportunity to improve their business skills by attending the event’s tailored business education seminars. A sample of the top-tier educators presenting at Beauty Expo 2017 includes Californian makeup artist, Donna Mee; international brow expert, David ‘Brow’ Zhang; Australian makeup artist to the stars, Rae Morris; US-based Young Nails educators, Greg Salo and Tracey Reierson; and motivational business speaker, Julie Piantadosi.

In addition to ticketed education, visitors can look forward to a schedule of free educational presentations on The HUB stages, dedicated to the latest trends and topics in anti-ageing, makeup, grooming, and nails.

Beauty Expo Australia presents a unique annual opportunity for networking, and an assortment of new products means that beauty professionals are up-to-date on industry innovations to implement in their salon or clinic.

Trends

Skincare products and treatments are set to make a big impact this year, with a 60 per cent increase in skincare exhibitors from the 2016 event. Natural and organic beauty brands and products, as well as those that are Australian-made and owned, will be highlighted on the show floor in 2017, as these features become increasingly strong considerations in consumer purchasing decisions. Other trends that will continue to prove popular through 2017-2018 and will be available to learn more about at Beauty Expo include micropigmentation, men’s brows, microblading, anti-ageing treatments, and the slow beauty movement.

Beauty Expo Australia presents the opportunity for industry professionals to learn from top educators on these topics, which will subsequently be requested at the salon from savvy consumers wanting to try the latest treatments.

Competitions

Beauty Expo Australia is proud to host three competitions in 2017, including the Face2Face Makeup Awards, for professional makeup artists; Nailympia Australia, for nail technicians; and the NSW leg of WorldSkills Australia’s Beauty Therapy competition, aimed at advancing the prospects for apprentices in trades. This year marks the first time that Beauty Expo Australia will host WorldSkills Australia’s Beauty Therapy competition.

With more than 200 exhibitors confirmed for Beauty Expo Australia 2017, beauty professionals should secure their ticket to the beauty event of the year this weekend. More information and tickets are available at www.beautyexpoaustralia.com.au
