Grateful stroke survivor available for National Stroke Week

Announcement posted by WMC PR 28 Aug 2017

With National Stroke Week coming up on 4-10 September, stroke survivor and inspirational business woman Kathleen Jordan is available for interview.

Kathleen suffered a massive stroke in 2011 and can provide a personal account of her journey back from a severe and life threatening trauma.

Her catastrophic haemorrhagic stroke is the most debilitating type and her condition was so severe doctors suggested a Do Not Resuscitate order. Her left side was completely paralysed.

When Kathleen could not stand up for herself as she progressed through acute trauma and stroke hospital wards and rehabilitation units, she relied on the support and advocacy she received from family and friends.

Without this advocacy, Kathleen believes she would not have had her incredible recovery which has seen her return to semi-normality and everyday life.

Kathleen has documented her journey in a book, Standing Up! My Story of Hope, Advocacy & Survival after Stroke, which will not only give hope to other stroke survivors and their loved ones, but anyone who has experienced major trauma, particularly by families who are feeling under-supported by medical limitations.

Please contact us at WMC PR on (03) 9803 2588 or wendy@wmcpr.com.au if you'd like us to organise a time to interview Kathleen.

Note: Kathleen is based in Melbourne and is unable to travel interstate.
Also note, this is a one-off email, you are not on a "list" for further communication.
