DICK SMITH WILL STAGE A 1 MAN PROTEST OUTSIDE ABC TV SYDNEY TODAY THURSDAY 7TH SEPTEMBER AT 4.30 PM . MEDIA INVITED
Dick Smith will stage a one man protest outside the ABC TV studios at 700 Harris St Ultimo in Sydney today Thursday 7th September at 4.30pm after ABC TV’s The Drum ran a biased, mistake ridden panel discussion about Dick’s $1million dollar Grim Reaper style population growth advertising campaign.

ABOUT THE PROTEST AND WHY?
Dick has spoken and written to The Drum requesting a “right of reply” on the programme and is presenting himself in person to appear on the show. They have refused his request.
“ Since launching the campaign Channels 7,9 , 10 and SBS have all run stories on the population growth campaign but ABC TV and current affairs have ignored it totally until last night when The Drum, without contacting me ran a biased and misinformed panel discussion full of mistakes that could have been easily corrected with one phone call.
ABC TV The Drum Mistake 1 . “ Describing the campaign as an anti-immigration ad. I have never had an anti-immigration ad. I am pro-immigration, I always have been. It is the reason Australia is such a fantastic country. Upon the advice of experts I am campaigning for immigration levels to return to the average of 70,000 a year as they were when Keating was Prime Minister, which I am told will mean a greater chance of a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren. I am also advocating an increase in intake of humanitarian cases to 20,000 a year.” Says Dick.
ABC TV The Drum Mistake 2. “ Saying that I am giving $2million dollars to Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party. I have never had any intention of making a donation to One Nation in relation to this issue or to any party. I am going to personally spend $2 million dollars on marginal seats to support the party that has a population growth policy and firmly believe that by election day one of the major parties will have a population policy.” Concludes Dick.
