Pookipoiga, a sustainable, ethical, quirky gift shop in Richmond, focusing on local artists and social brands is excited to announce their partnership with Melbourne crowdsourced delivery startup, Passel.

Up until now, Pookipoiga had either relied on the post or, in some cases, actually hopping on a bike or public transport to make deliveries. But, from Monday, Pookipoiga’s clients in Melbourne will be able to access 3-hour deliveries every day of the year.

“Passel is efficient and able to convey messages personally with locals. They have the ability to make the delivery experience memorable” said Sree Nellerichal, founder of Pookipoiga. “A lot of our customers are buying last-minute gifts. Previously, we know they have chosen not to buy because we can’t deliver until the next day, or even after the weekend. Who doesn’t want to provide exceptional value and a variety of options to customers?”

Passel is a crowdsourced delivery service to help retailers gain more sales by providing inexpensive and convenient 3-hour deliveries. Instead of professional or part-time couriers, Passel Members are regular people who complete a delivery on their way home in exchange for a $10 gift voucher.

Marshall Hughes, Co-Founder and CEO of Passel is delighted to have Pookipoiga as a client. “Pookipoiga is a perfect client to work with. They are acutely aware of the likes of international giants such as Amazon and know that it is not enough just to compete by offering more of the same. Affordable 3-hour delivery sets a new benchmark for Australian retailers”.

Sree continues “There are some amazing startups in Melbourne and people should check out Passel as well as local companies such as Onya, Brauz and To Me Love Me”.

Passel has a number of retailers ready to launch and expects to be operating out of most of Melbourne’s major retail precincts and shopping centres in time for Christmas.

Said Marshall, “Passel’s service is ideally suited to retailers in high traffic areas who want to benefit both from converting more online sales and then from drawing new customers into their stores”.

Sree believes the two companies’ values are well aligned. “Pookipoiga is about quirky, social, local, natural and sustainable stories throughout our products and the things we do, so Passel fits nicely with our ethics as it is very local, quirky and have a sustainable and social side to them.”
