St George Bank Limited & eHound announce pioneering ATM search service via mobile

St George Bank is the first retail bank in Australia to offer its customers no matter where they are the ability to find their nearest ATM via a simple SMS message via the mobile phone.
Colin St Clair, Head of Network Infrastructure and Operations for St George Bank says, We can now provide a timely and valuable service to our customers, enabling them to access ATM location information in the palm of their hand. eHound not only allows us to deliver ATM location information direct to our customers mobile phones, we can now maintain and publish location data in real time via the eHound service.
eHounds ATM finder service facilitates a proximity search for the nearest ATM based on an initial suburb query. It also aggregates search results where there are a number of St George ATMs in a given location.
eHound Managing Director Ashley Porter said: The mobile phone is a natural fit for ATM search, as it is more likely that a consumer will be in a wireless environment when they need to find their preferred brand of ATM. We are pleased to be able to provide St George and its customers with this time and money saving service.
For a demonstration of the ATM finder service, simply send a suburb and state query in SMS, e.g. Bondi Beach NSW to 199 44 ATM (199 44 286). You will immediately receive an SMS message with the location of the St George ATMs located in that suburb. Easy!
