Single Touch Payroll is Coming

Single Touch Payroll (STP) is coming, but it’s not here yet.

STP is a Government initiative requiring employers to report all payments, pay as you go (PAYG) tax and super information to the Australian Tax Office (ATO) at the same time you pay employees. As a leader in the payroll and employee management space, Employgroup is implementing a first-class solution for these new requirements.

For employers with 20 or more employees, STP reporting is a legislated start at this date 1st July 2018. The first year will be a transition and penalties will not apply.

The Government has announced it will expand STP to include employers with less than 20 employees from 1st July 2019.

Don’t be alarmed, Employgroup has this under control for you. While the ATO sorts through the finer details and defines the exact requirements, we will be releasing changes ahead of the start dates using information gathered through our involvement with the ATO/industry working groups. Employgroup’s new on-boarding module will be released in the New Year.

To ensure you’re prepared for STP, we’ll be sending out communications in the next few months, updating everyone on their requirements of STP.

We will continue to provide information to help employers understand what they need to do to get ready for STP reporting.

Single Touch Payroll – Employgroup’s got it covered.
