BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND: KIDDI-OKE, FOR KIDS WHO SING

Announcement posted by Thurnham Teece 01 Nov 2017

Last November Kiddi-Oke was launched at Oasis Shopping Village Palmerston. Due to the interest created, children and their parents have endorsed its return.
Kiddi-Oke 2017 will launch on Saturday 18th with the first heat, followed by a second heat on Saturday 25th November. The final is being staged on Saturday 2nd December.

Kiddi-Oke is an exciting karaoke style competition for kids between 5 and 16 years, designed to build confidence and self-esteem in children, bring out their creative flair and give them the opportunity to perform in front of an audience in a safe happy fun environment. It’s also great entertainment for local shoppers at the Centre especially leading into the festive season.

Last year dozens of children took to the stage performing their renditions of well known songs such as ‘Let it Go’, ‘Pokémon’ and ‘Do you want to build a snowman’, plus numerous renditions of Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’ and Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake it Off’.

This community event is an initiative of Oasis Shopping Village, who provide the infrastructure, prizes and certificates for each child. In launching the Kiddi-Oke 2017 competition, Helen Wilson, Centre Manager, commented.

”Palmerston is a fast growing area of families with young children. At Oasis Shopping Village we enjoy engaging with these families and are delighted to host Kiddi-Oke 2017.”
