HR Veteran expands into humanitarian and volunteer space

With 10 years’ experience as a recruitment specialist in the Human Resources industry, Nathan C Anderson knows people. However, it is outside of this corporate light helping others reach their career potential, where he has found something far more rewarding.

‘I’ve always been searching for a deeper,’ comments Anderson, ‘Work is work, and I enjoy it, but I always knew I had a greater purpose.’ Anderson was born to an Indo-Chinese mother and Australian father, grew up with two strong and loving sisters, and married a Nepali woman. He has first-hand experience in the diversity of the world and particularly the important role that women play in all of our lives. Having also had the privilege to travel to numerous countries across the world, Anderson been inspired by the beauty and strength of people from different cultures but saddened by the disparity of poverty and inequality he has witnessed.

‘I live in Australia and feel strongly that charity begins at home. Once established, you can than branch out and make a larger impact on the world,’ states Anderson, ‘I am a big believer of giving time over money which has led me along my path of community connection.’

Anderson has been volunteering for 8+ years now, including 5 years at St Johns Ambulance Service as a First Responder 2009 – 2014, and was awarded the Queensland Flood and Cyclone Citation 2011 3 years at the Children's Hospital Foundation, a year at the Royal Children's Hospital and 2 years at the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital working in the Wonder Factory and bedside play. Anderson has volunteered for the Youth Employment Project helping kids with their CV and interviewing, attended the Givebackathon 2016 and 2017 to help bridge the gap for indigenous Australians, worked with AIME and CareerTrackers for indigenous internships and work experience. He has fundraised thousands of dollars for the Nepalese Australian Friendship Association in 2015 by running a Marathon and a number of other charities and organisations over the years starting with Meals on Wheels and Red Cross Appeals while attending high school.

Now as a published author, Anderson can reach a far wider community. I Am was born to help inspire the next generation for a brighter future no matter their background, to allow our children to fulfil their potential and help them become who they are destined to be,’ comments Anderson.
