Sydney November 13, 2017 - VTech, a world leader in telephony and monitoring solutions for all, aims to help the vision and hearing impaired, as well as the elderly, live more connected, independent lives both at home and for work with the launch of CareLineTM, the most advanced telephony and accessory range available in Australia.

Easy to use and ideal for everyday conversations as well as emergency situations, the CareLineTM telephony system was co-developed with leading experts in aging and technology. Aimed at people who need added visual and audio assistance, among its many features are a volume booster, extra large screen, bigger buttons, extra loud ringer, talking digits, quick dial memory keys on base (photo keys), calling number display and calling number display announce (full details below).

To develop the CareLineTM phone features, VTech has leveraged its many years of experience in supplying high end special hearing / feature phones globally, and has also created a range of lifestyle accessories after consulting with global industry experts, including a 2-way audio doorbell, extension ringer and an SOS pendant.

With an ageing population, hearing loss is projected to increase to 1 in every 4 Australians by 2050. Hearing loss has been linked to risks of depression, dementia, hypertension, heart disease, and other serious health problems. If not addressed, hearing loss can impact on the ability of many Australians to work to their potential.

“People of all ages wear glasses to help with sight yet they can be reluctant to use other forms of assistance to enhance their own day-to-day lives and interactions with others for hearing assistance, yet well designed technology can make a world of difference. By incorporating simple and well designed features like bigger buttons, larger screens and emergency support functions, we’re proud to develop a product range that genuinely improves people’s lives,” said Mark Franklin, Managing Director at VTech Telecommunications Australia.

Half [1] of Australians have a family member or loved one with hearing issues or difficulties so as we move towards a time of year when quality of connection is all the more valued, and so many of us make resolutions to stay in touch more, the CareLineTM range makes it easier to do so,” he added.

The VTech 17450 CareLineTM DECT6.0 Cordless Telephone with VSmart is available with an RRP of $89.00 for a single handset pack and $129.00 for a two handset pack at major retailers across Australia including Big W, Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi, with special offers included on accessories.
