POWERTEL LAUNCHES WHOLESALE VoIP BUSINESS NETWORK

Announcement posted by PowerTel 06 Apr 2006

Business telecommunications company, PowerTel, last week added to its significant wholesale offering with the introduction of carrier-grade Voice over IP services. With a number of VoIP services already confirmed, the companys new and existing Wholesale Partners have forecasted significant growth with the new platform.
The national upgrade to VoIP is the culmination of a $10m investment in PowerTels network expansion strategy. It enables the companys Wholesale Partners to leverage the reliability and scalability of PowerTels private network in support of their customers individual requirements. PowerTel Managing Director, Paul Broad, said the launch of the companys VoIP capability was the first step in a staged roll-out of further product offerings within the next nine months.
VoIP gives our Wholesale Partners the opportunity to have all their customers communications voice, video and data carried over one secure, private network. This greatly enhances PowerTels ability to meet the changing needs of its Wholesale Partners customers. VoIP is critical to businesses today to improve their productivity and bottomline performance and PowerTel is making it easy for our Wholesale Partners to assist their customers to migrate to a high-quality voice and data networking environment.
PowerTel Wholesale Partner, Amityone Network, said the launch of PowerTels VoIP platform would enable the company to offer a flexible,
carrier-grade voice and data network to its customers.
The key to PowerTels VoIP is the fact it is an end-to-end service across a private and secure network. Therefore, we are very confident that what we are providing our customers is a high quality, reliable and flexible solution, improving the manageability of communications, Amityone Network Managing Director, John Serpanos, said. VoIP is no longer an emerging technology but a critical business tool and we expect the growth in demand will triple within the next year, he said.
