NEXT GENERATION OF AUSTRALIAN SCIENTISTS AND ENGINEERS

Stockland and the National Theatre for Children (NTC) have joined forces for the third consecutive year to present a first-of-its-kind program using LEGO® Education robotics, as part of a new learning experience for students.
Over 10,000 students across 20 primary schools in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Perth will take part in a hands-on STEAM enrichment education opportunity at no cost to the school.
STEAM is the international movement to nurture student interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM), while integrating the Arts to foster innovation.

The program, dubbed Bee on the Team (BOTT) will see professional actors from The National Theatre for Children portray bees, a bear and an ant in a live in-school comedy. After the theatrical event excites students, each teacher will be provided with a supplemental curriculum designed to make science come to life.
The unique combination of the theatrical event, classroom-friendly software, and inspiring, curriculum-based science projects helps to build students’ confidence to ask questions, define problems and design their own solutions.
Students then form in-school teams who are provided with LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 kits. Guided by teacher coaches, teams explore real-world scientific problems and create posters to illustrate their journey of discovery. Students will also construct a motorized model of what they learned using LEGO® Education WeDo 2.0 kits.

Bee On The Team will launch its national tour in Melbourne during the week starting Monday 26th February, 2018.
