RAD's New Low-cost Plug & Play Rate & Interface Conversion with SNMP Management

Paclink has announce the release of RADs FCD-E1L, the newest addition to the popular FCD family of network termination units. The FCD-E1L further enhances the versatility of the product family by offering low cost network conversion between various data interfaces and E1 or between LAN and E1, establishing transparent LAN interconnection between sites over the E1 network.
The FCD-E1L supports a wide range of data rates and interfaces, enabling simple connectivity to external devices such as routers. In addition, FCD-E1L supports 10/10BaseT Ethernet interface modules with built-in bridge or IP router, which allows LAN-to LAN connectivity. "An optional integrated router enables smaller offices to benefit from a low cost alternative to deploying an external router for IP gateway functionality," Craig Martyn, Director, Paclink. The standard E1 interface of the FCD-E1L is compatible with virtually all carrier-provided E1 services.
The plug-and-play unit detects the E1 parameters upon connection to the E1 link and performs automatic configuration accordingly. This E1 learning process can be activated via either a pushbutton on the FCD-E1L front panel or a terminal command. The FCD-E1L has an internal SNMP agent and can be controlled by any generic SNMP station or by the user-friendly, graphical RADview SNMP network management application.
"It is an unusual combination to find a low cost, plug-and-play conversion device that also offers advanced management and monitoring capabilities," says Martyn.
Available from Paclink, the RRP for the FCD-E1L ranges from A$1,500 (ex GST).
