Announcement posted by Divorce 21 Dec 2017

Senior consultant Chris Dunn of Watts McCray, Australia’s leading family lawyers, has been recently elected the inaugural President of the Greater West Family Law Practitioners Association. The announcement was made by His Honour Justice Foster, one of the Justices of the Family Court based at the Parramatta Registry. The Honourable Eric Baker has also been appointed the Association’s Patron.

The association hopes to provide learning programs and mentoring opportunities for its members.  It will also provide a voice for those who practise in Family Law in the geographic areas serviced by the Parramatta and Dubbo Registries of the Family Law Courts in lobbying and making submissions to Government, Commissions and other professional associations.

In a statement Mr Dunn said, “My vision for the Greater West Family Law Practitioners Association is for it to provide a means for all people who work in the Family Law system – not just lawyers and judges, to help each other in providing the best possible assistance to their Family Law clients.”

Mr Dunn regularly advises family law clients on property settlements, pre-nuptial and post-nuptial financial agreements, maintenance, child support, parenting arrangements. He also advises and represents the interests of companies, liquidators, administrators and personal insolvency trustees in matters where they have third party interests in matrimonial disputes.

“I am excited about the support already received from my fellow practitioners and the officers of the Family Court in setting up this important Association,” Mr Dunn added.
