EEEG Ready to Support Families as Australia Introduces Child Care Package in 2018

Announcement posted by Eclipse Early Childhood Education 25 Jan 2018

From 2 July 2018 Australian government is introducing a new child care package that will provide more support for families with child care. This package includes a new child care subsidy which replaces the current child care benefit and child care rebate with a single, means-tested subsidy.  The award-winning Eclipse Early Education Group that has child care centres around Australia is ready with information for families looking to enrol in their centres or those that are already enrolled.

The new plan will be simpler than the current multi-payment system and will be better targeted and provide more assistance to low and middle income families. There are also changes to the annual cap which will make child care more affordable for most families. The package will affect both child care centres and families.

EEEG has state of the art purpose-built facilities that provide a range of programs to Infant care for 0 - 2 year olds, Toddler Care for 2 – 3 year olds, Kinder Care for 3 year olds and a fully funded Kindergarten program for 4 year olds. Their centres are located at Armstrong Creek, Brookfield, Clyde North, Craigieburn, Cranbourne East, Cranbourne North, Epping, Eynesbury, Lyndhurst, Murrumbeena, Pimpama and Torquay. The Eclipse group takes pride in providing children with the best educational resources and exceptional learning opportunities. The centre is open every day from 6:30am to 6:30pm (excluding public holidays).  The staff are available to communicate by email and phone to discuss the enrolment procedure, fees, subsidies and vacancies. They can also assist in a personalised tour of their centres.

With the new package the Child Care Subsidy will be paid directly to providers to be passed on to families as a fee reduction. Families will make a co-contribution to their child care fees and pay to the provider the difference between the fee charged and the subsidy amount.  The new child care package will also provide targeted additional fee assistance for vulnerable families through the Child Care Safety Net. The package includes a $1.2 billion safety net to give the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children, and this includes those from regional and remote communities, a strong start through access to quality early learning and child care.

On this website families will find information on different types of child care and how to get assistance with the cost of child care.
