Australia's leading sports analytics company takes centre stage alongside President Obama

Fusion Sport are pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 2018 MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference, to be held February 23rd and 24th in Boston, Massachusetts.

Presented by ESPN, the two-day event will highlight the impacts of innovations driven by industry experts, team owners, league executives, coaches, and players in the sports industry - both on and off the field.

The breadth and scope of the conference has evolved over the years from only a few panels to a massive, multi-day event featuring speakers, interactive activities, presentations, and workshops. This year's event will feature high profile speakers like President Obama, the 44th President of the United States, and a well-known sports fan. Other notable speakers scheduled for this year's conference include Adam Silver, Rob Manfred, Nate Silver, Alex Rodriguez, Steve Ballmer and Maverick Carter.

The team at Fusion Sport have been attending the conference for a number of years and in 2015 they took home the Alpha award for technology most likely to impact sport on a global basis.

As part of Fusion Sport's sponsorship of the 2018 event they have gathered some of the top human performance organisations to be part of the event for all attendees to benefit from.

In partnership with Fusion Sport, The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) will be taking part in a Competitive Advantage session at the conference. With a user base of over 15,000 including athletes, medical staff, coaches, sport scientists, data analysts, high performance managers, and dieticians, the AIS have developed a truly centralised national system. The AIS has successfully transformed the culture around data and outcomes for athletes across the Australian sporting landscape, especially in the area of injury prevention.

The 711th Human Performance Wing of the Air Force Research Laboratory, will explore their need to stay at the forefront of Human Performance.

Lastly, the University of Oregon will expand on their experience with centralising data across their universities 19 sports and professional Australian Rules Football team, the Geelong Cats, will showcase their world-class training reports.

Over the course of the two-day event Fusion Sport will also be educating delegates in the Data Visualisation Room and taking them on an interactive journey into the world of human performance data.
