Since pioneering Australian personalised video in 2014, Smart Video Australia (SVA) have advanced rapidly. No longer just the next home-grown start up, the SaaS firm has already turned heads for some of Australia’s key finance players.

Smart Video Australia create personalised video campaigns across the customer lifecycle including onboarding, policy set up, loyalty and retention, and reactivation. Industry verticals have so far included superannuation, banking, telco, utilities, retail and airlines.

Rolling out campaigns in 2017 saw success for companies such as Virgin mobile, Ladbrokes, HSBC, nib health insurance, Australia Post and more. Now the team (led by CEO and Founder Rodd Martin & Co-Founder Francoise Gelbard) are building on those successes to take the next step and break new ground in Australian (and global) data-driven martech.

In February 2018, Smart Video Australia is launching a breakthrough, world first marketing technology. With AI and Machine Learning driving the tech, the real time Personalised Video Assistant is set to revolutionise online customer engagement and acquisition.

The team’s ambitions are based on forward thinking ideas, with a mix of proven cutting edge technology. Smart Video Australia's personalised content management expertise also plays a significant part. Ladbrokes then - General Manager of CX & Innovation Christian Bowman explains:

“We needed to find interesting ways to reactivate dormant customers.  Smart Video Australia’s personalised video technology provided the best opportunity to get their attention. I was tasked by our COO to get it up and live ready to send the weekend before Melbourne Cup.

“It was split tested against a fairly evolved reactivation campaign strategy. For 3 of the 5 dormancy classification bands, personalised video triggered higher than average deposit amounts, 25-45 year olds, who made up the bulk of the campaign, also had a higher behavioural response including higher average net turnover. This was on top of a 23% incremental uplift in open rates and a 27% up lift in click through rates.”

Smart Video Australia CEO Rodd Martin: “The Ladbrokes campaign featured multiple personalisation points that literally placed the viewer inside the video story. Over 90,000 customers heard their names voiced by Mad Max Fury Road star, Richard Carter. This all resulted in video play duration analytics running off the charts”

Christian Bowman: “The speed was the main thing (that interested us), outside of just how cool it was.  We had 3 weeks to develop a script, organise our VO talent and do the recordings interstate, design all of the supers, edit the content, set up the data requirements and the landing page work.  Smart Video Australia made it easy for us, and it definitely helped I had a great in-house creative team and that the Smart Video team have worked with most of the best production teams in the country already.”

SmartVideo Cofounder Francoise Gelbard: “Since 2014 we have immensely enjoyed launching in excess of 40 customer journey campaigns. We love working with a diverse mix of internal digital, marketing and IT stakeholders at leading ASX companies and global multinationals. We also work closely alongside their CRM and other martech vendors and partners, to create and deliver dynamic and seamless customer experiences.”

Smart Video Australia are launching a world-first technology for the robo advice, financial services and insurance.  They will be presenting their new AI automation offering for the first time at the ADMA Data Day in the Crown Promenade Melbourne on the 23rd of February and in Sydney at the Sofitel Wentworth on Phillip St on the 26th.
