Announcement posted by Manheim 02 Mar 2018

Manheim Auctions will auction off two of the very last locally built HSV vehicles plus the iconic W1 press test vehicle. Special event auction – Saturday, March 17 starting at 2.00pm. Vehicles include: the last built GTSR Sedan, the last built GTSR Maloo

One of Australia’s leading automotive auctioneers, Manheim and Australia’s leading performance car manufacturer, HSV are teaming up to auction off three highly sought after vehicles. With two of the very last locally built models up for auction, as well as the company press test pilot GTSR W1, the auction is set to draw massive interest from HSV fans and the public alike.

The special event auction will be a chance to own a piece of Aussie history and it will take place at Manheim’s Altona North site, on Saturday, March 17 starting at 2.00pm.

After reintroducing the much-revered GTSR nameplate, as part of the final build of the locally manufactured “Zeta” platform, this auction will make history as the ‘end of an era’ for local HSV manufacturing in Australia.

This auction is an exclusive chance for the public to have the opportunity to purchase some motoring heritage, such as the last built GTSR Sedan and GTSR Maloo Ute as well as the jaw dropping GTSR W1.

The exclusive GTSR and the GTSR Maloo sees a maximum power output of 435kW, making these vehicles the most powerful LSA V8 engine HSV has ever offered. As for the GTSR W1, with a maximum output of 474kW, this is the most powerful performance car ever built in Australia.

Manheim was delighted to be entrusted by HSV to conduct and promote such a significant auction. Manheim CEO, Charles Cumming said, “We are very excited and very proud to be working with HSV to conduct such a special auction which will see these iconic vehicles offered to the public. Clearly HSV has a proud and long history in the Australian automotive industry so we want to make sure the public sale of these special vehicles generates the interest HSV truly deserves.”

“Every Saturday we have a wide range of cars on offer so I encourage people to get here early on the day and check out our weekly auction offering. At the conclusion of our regular auction which commences at 10am, visitors can be part of a moment in Australian automotive history, with the HSV auction set to start at 2pm.”

The HSV’s can be viewed on the morning of the auction from 9.00am onwards and prior to that they can be viewed online on the Manheim website.

Interstate buyers can also participate in the auction using Manheim’s live action app -  ‘Simulcast’ – which allows buyers to participate in the physical auction using their smart phone, tablet device or PC.
