FOUR-LEGGED SHREDDERS READY TO RIDE THE RAILS

The salty dogs are back and ready to shred Noosa’s most pristine point break on Saturday 10th March at the VetShopAustralia Surfing Dog Championships, part of the world famous Noosa Festival of Surfing.

Proudly co-sponsored by Simparica the event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with expectation mounting on which tubular pup will be crowned top dog in 2018.

Along with crowd favourites Rama, two time champion and back pack rider extraordinaire, Indie & Anna, the dynamically stylish Hawaiian lei wearing duo and Murph, the hippest and coolest pup in the pack, first time ruff rider Spike, native of Victoria and possibly part-penguin, is chomping at the bone to be part of the line-up.

“Spike turns from casual family dog into hyper hound when he sees a glimpse of the beach and will no doubt want to get his paws submerged and on the trophy,” owner Rob Lorenzon said.

Adopted from the Lost Dogs Home in Anglesea, Victoria, five years ago and soaking up a second chance of life, Spike, a Kelpie x Border Collie x Ridgeback and his master are super stocked to be part of this year’s event.

“Together we share the thrill of catching waves and I think that makes us a team to look out for.”

Before this year’s big event the VetShopAustralia and Simparica teams, along with Chris De Aboitiz from SUPDOG Oz, and special guests, Dr Lewis Hunt and Dr Alex Hynes, the new ‘Bondi Vets,’ will also be running a FREE Pups on SUP’s workshop from 7:30am at Noosa Dog Beach.  Open to the general public, the workshop provides the skills needed to better bond with your fur-friend, whether you intend to hit the water or not.

"At our workshops we train people not the dogs. It's all about the relationship with your dog and surfing together can really be a nice fun way to have exercise and structure, and it's a great way to bond," Chris De Aboitiz said.

So bring your dog, a stand up paddle board and get ready to get wet, which Chris says, is the best way to have fun and keep fit with your pet.

PLUS Selfies with Surfing Dogs

Fancy a photo with this year’s hottest surfing dogs? Head on down to the VetShopAustralia/Simparica marquee from 10:00am to hang ten and get a selfie with your favourite ruff rider.  There will also be free Simparica samples, competitions and prizes up for grabs.
