Grease kicked off in Brisbane in April 2017 and since then, Harvest Rain Theatre Company has toured Grease – The Arena Experience to capacity houses in Arenas around the country - Newcastle, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Over 60,000 people nationwide have seen the show and now it’s Canberra’s turn in October before moving on to Perth.
 
In a unique twist, Australia’s most iconic female Indigenous performer, Aria Award winner, Christine Anu, will don the wings as Teen Angel.
 
“Teen Angel is traditionally played by a male, but we really wanted to mix things up in this new production,” says producer Tim O’Connor. “Teen Angel appears when Frenchy has just dropped out of beauty school and is feeling lost and looking for guidance, and we couldn’t think of anything more fitting in 2018 than for that advice to come from a kick-ass female! And really, you can’t get more kick-ass than Christine Anu. She’s an Aussie legend, and we’re so pleased to be welcoming her into the cast.”
 
Joining Christine on stage will be Australian sweetheart Meghan O’Shea (Singing in the Rain) in the iconic role of star-crossed lover, Sandy and making his debut in a lead role, Damon Wade as Danny. The Footy Show’s legendary larrikin Beau Ryan takes on the role of DJ Vince Fontaine and Lauren McKenna (Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray – the Big Fat Arena Spectacular) will swap a can of hairspray for a Pink Ladies jacket when she takes on the role of Jan.  Also starring Chris Geoghegan as Kenickie, Ruby Clark as Rizzo, Stacey de Waard as Frenchie and Emily Monsma as Marty alongside a mass ensemble of over 800 young performers.
 
Before taking to the stage in Grease – The Arena Experience, Christine will release a new single duet Without You with powerhouse Greg Gould through ABC Music on 16 March.  You can also find Christine touring the east-coast of Australia in her acclaimed In Conversation and Song tour. 
 
The ultimate party musical features all the favourite hits including; "You're the One That I Want", "Greased Lightnin'", “Grease is the Word”, "Summer Nights", “Beauty School Drop Out” and "Born to Hand Jive".
 
Grease is the timelessly funny story of 1950s teen love, cliques, and peer pressure. Join your favourite Rydell High students, Danny & Sandy, The T-Birds and the Pink Ladies along with a cast of hilarious characters as they jive and bop their way to Graduation.
