Award Winning Eco Warrior Shines Again at Prestigious Show

Announcement posted by STEM Landscape 16 Mar 2018

Emmaline Bowman is no stranger to winning as she returns to the location of this Years Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. The talented landscape architect is the stand out for her incredible design Living Garden design.

Her growing following on Instagram is a testament to the talented designer’s popularity and when you cast eyes on the horticultural art piece, it is easy to see why. This year's Living Garden installation was inspired by the idea of timelessness and nimble connectedness. Working in unison with the passage of time, weather and the elements Living Garden evolves and enhances rather than withers. There are no jarring or overtly modern structures – all the details curated with sympathy and cohesion to the local landscape.

“I wanted to design a thriving natural garden that is accessible for all people, regardless of budget. A space that people can rest, rejuvenate, be at peace and feel restored" says Emmaline.

The ecocentric landscape architect has an enthusiasm for the wilderness and its creatures great and small. Sustainability and the motto of leaving your environment better than you found it is what drives the Melbournian to create.

Emmaline's winning boutique garden last year the Wild at Heart garden was created to demonstrate that we can incorporate habitats, homes, and systems for all species. The inclusion of indigenous features, as well as edible plants for insects and humans alike, gave it a unique twist that captivated visitors.

The Melbourne International Flower and Garden show is the Southern Hemisphere’s largest and most loved horticultural event,  and it returns to the heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens from Wednesday 21 – Sunday 25 March in 2018.
