Trade Indy, a Melbourne based independent programmatic trading desk, this week has announced the appointment of three top hires to support their rapidly expanding business across the APAC region.
With their head office in Melbourne and a growing share of the Australian agency market, Trade Indy’s strong talent card deepens with the onboarding of these new hires.
“We are thrilled to be adding some of Australia’s leading programmatic and digital innovators to our talented team. Alex Hetherton has come on as Group Managing Director, Simon Crean as Director – Product and most recently Rick Mulia as Director – Supply and Data” said James Robertson, Trade Indy’s Executive Director.
“We have recently opened offices in Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines as well as expanding our Melbourne based trading team to support the growth both here and abroad. Trade Indy was established in 2014 by tech entrepreneur brothers Mike and James Robertson, they were joined shortly after by seasoned Media Sales Director Mark Rosenberg. Alex HethertonGroup Managing Director
Alex Hetherton is a senior media executive and commercial leader, with in-depth experience across the digital, ad tech and programmatic sectors.
Prior to joining Trade Indy, Alex was instrumental in transforming a series of early stage startups into successful medium-sized, regional media companies – firstly with MEDIATA (formerly Valued Interactive Media), where he was brought on as the first official hire and grew the business to 25+ employees across five countries, before being headhunted by Crimtan to help them achieve triple-digit growth across APAC.
Throughout his career to date, Alex has played an integral part in the discovery, strategy and successful implementation of new teams, technologies and revenue streams.
Simon Crean
Director - Product
Since starting out at high growth startup Looksmart in 1995, Simon has been working in progressive media businesses ever since. Simon has held Executive positions for publishing networks, brands, measurement and research, management consultancy, media platforms and advertising technologies. Simon has worked with an extensive amount of startups, mid-sized/cap and large enterprises.
Simon has extensive internet and mobile experience with over 22 years across industries including positions with Looksmart, Fairfax, Ericsson, Telstra, Destra, Mercury Mobility, BusinesSMS Hallmark, Effective Measure, SongTradr, Ad Effective, Shoply and Kmart.
Rick Mulia
Director - Supply and Data
Rick brings close to 20 years of experience in senior digital roles, having most recently worked for Rubicon Project where he was Managing Director for the JAPAC region.
Prior to that Rick held various leadership roles across the Asia Pacific region for companies including Twitter, Microsoft, MSN and Yahoo!7, involved extensively in advertising sales, strategic partnerships, business expansion and product development.
Some of his notable achievements within his career include; leading the launch of Yahoo!7, establishing and launching the Twitter business in Indonesia, building the ad tech stack for Wego, (a travel metasearch in SEA & Middle East) and launching xinmsn, a strategic partnership between Microsoft and MediaCorp, in Singapore.
