First Quantum Minerals Utilising INX Software’s solutions for Training Management

Announcement posted by INX Software 18 Apr 2018

First Quantum Minerals Sentinel, where Sentinel is approximately 150 kilometers west of the town of Solwezi in North Western Province of Zambia in Africa, and is 100% owned by Kalumbila Minerals Limited (KML), a First Quantum subsidiary, are managing their training and competency requirements with INX Software, an Australian-based safety, training, logistics and compliance software solution provider.

At First Quantum Minerals, the result was the implementation of training and competence solution, INX InTuition. This allowed the company to manage their internal training with less limitations compared to their previous system, reduce costs, simplify their course management, and ensure that their employees and contractors remain compliant.

INX Software led a Q&A session to find out what First Quantum was previously using to manage their workforce and what they were looking for in the new system.

“We were previously using a training management tool which displayed a number of limitations. There was no feature to keep results of more than one component of a course, and no option to add to or change the people data fields, as well as limited reporting options. There was also limited support provided.

That’s why we wanted a better and more flexible system that would not have the above limitations, and enable us to operate within a streamlined process framework. Finding a system with a responsible and easy to access support team was another big factor in our search.”

The feedback they gave was, “Looking to implement our new management system, we were pleased to find INX was able to accommodate our needs and overcome the limitations experienced with our previous system.”
