How to become a more eco-savvy coffee lover

Announcement posted by 360PR 09 Apr 2018

Media Release - April 2018

April 2018 marks the 48th annual Earth Month and JURA reveals some statistics that indicate Australians are worried about the environmental impact of coffee pods. JURA urges Australians to take the leap this month, say goodbye to pods and take active steps to reduce their environmental footprint.

In recent research conducted by McCrindle, JURA can exclusively reveal 78% of Australian coffee drinkers are concerned about the environmental impact of coffee pods and takeaway coffee cups*.

George Liakatos, Managing Director of JURA Australia says, “Coffee pods are having a serious impact on the environment, with millions of used empty pods ending up in landfill. We’re proud to say all JURA machines use fresh coffee beans for the ultimate coffee enjoyment, so your cup of coffee tastes so much better than any pod could ever produce. You can make a cup of coffee at the touch of a button, with a clear conscience.

“There’s no better time than now to highlight the need to take action for a more sustainable future. We’re taking a stand against the throw-away mentality and hope to inspire Aussies to commit to a sustainable world,” adds George.

JURA’s key steps for coffee lovers this Earth Month to reduce their environmental footprint:
  1. Buy only certified organic coffee beans – these are not treated with any harmful toxic chemicals or GMOs which contaminates the air, water and land.
  2. Invest in a reusable coffee cup – whether it be KeepCup or Frank Green, there’s so many beautiful cup options now available so you can keep your cup rather than sending more rubbish to landfill. It can double as a fashion accessory!
  3. Invest in an eco-friendly JURA coffee machine – there’s a range of machines available for different budgets and requirements, whether it’s for domestic or professional use. It’s worth investing in the environment, just as much as the quality of your coffee – and JURA can offer you both!
JURA is proud to say their machines are equipped with the most innovative and reliable technology. In addition to the absence of coffee pods, JURA machines are installed with a range of sustainable features including:
  • Ecological – no unnecessary packaging waste and made from highest quality materials.
  • Durable – JURA machines are designed to give you many years of coffee pleasure provided they are maintained properly.
  • Energy saving modes – save power and money for the individual without forcing them to give up genuine coffee specialties in their own home. JURA machines offer an energy-saving potential of up to 40% and still ready instantly at the touch of a button.
  • Efficient switch off – JURA Machines are equipped with an energy switch which completely disconnects your machine from its power supply whilst the machine is on standby.
