400 GRADI TAKES AN EXTRA SLICE OF THE MIDDLE EAST

Announcement posted by Evil Twin PR 11 Apr 2018

On 22 March in Kuwait, award-winning chef and founder of Melbourne's 400 Gradi restaurants, Johnny Di Francesco, opened his second restaurant within the Middle East. The opening follows the successful launch of his first international venue in Bahrain late last year.

Offering authentic and award-winning Italian dishes, 400 Gradi brings a wide variety of deliciously handcrafted Italian cuisine to the Kuwait market. Using the finest Italian ingredients, the restaurant will give guests in the Middle East the most vivid Neapolitan experience possible outside of Naples.

Speaking about the opening Johnny says, “I’m thrilled to launch 400 Gradi in Kuwait and to continue expanding our group across the Middle East. This is another huge step for the Gradi Group and for me personally. Not only are we bringing authentic Italian food to the region, but we’re also sharing our Italian passion and the true Gradi Group spirit, and spreading the tradition of La Vera Pizza Napoletana.”

Italian-inspired, the restaurant boasts the beautiful Gradi Group décor. With chic black furniture, and white and golden hues throughout, guests will enjoy the enclosed area that looks out onto The Avenues’ stunning mall. Surrounded by cast iron Victorian-style lampposts, striking archways, fresh green trees and a glass-domed roof, the 138-seat restaurant is bright, spacious and very welcoming.

With plans to expand the group across five countries before the end of this year, the global expansion of 400 Gradi marks the next exciting chapter for the Melbourne-born restaurateur.

As the first Australian ever trained in Naples under the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (the association for authentic Neapolitan pizza), Johnny opened the first 400 Gradi in 2008. Now 10 years on, Kuwait marks the second stage of the roll out of 400 Gradi across the Unite Arab Emirates and Johnny’s global expansion.
