Australia’s $3.4m ‘funeral home of the future’ opens in Victoria

Announcement posted by InvoCare 17 Apr 2018

Melbourne, Australia, 17 April 2018:  Leading funeral services provider, InvoCare, has built Australia’s ‘funeral home of the future,’ located in Dandenong, Victoria.

Industry and consumer trends show customers are increasingly looking for a contemporary environment that provides a range of products and services, as well as an event style venue where they can celebrate the life of loved one.

Operating under the White Lady Funerals and Le Pine Funerals brands, the Dandenong facility includes two arranging rooms, a viewing room, a celebration / memorial lounge with an outdoor decked area, and a 170 seat (200 standing) non-denominational chapel – the largest capacity chapel in the South-East Melbourne area.

The facility also includes a state-of-the-art audio-visual system enabling families to webcast and record the service to share with overseas friends and family.

Martin Earp, InvoCare CEO, says the renovated site will transform InvoCare’s ability for its staff to meet the needs of the customer into the future.

“People want to celebrate the lives of their loved ones, rather than commiserate”, says Mr. Earp.  “We are seeing a rise in individualism and a decline in religiosity, and consumers are now demanding the ability to personalise a funeral”.

“The facilities of a funeral home are becoming increasingly important in meeting the needs of customers.  We want to provide families with everything they need to farewell their loved one the way they want. This new environment sets a benchmark for our facilities and will support our staff to deliver new levels of customer experience”.

The Dandenong Funeral Home has been developed as part of InvoCare’s Protect & Grow Plan, which will see the ASX listed company upgrade all facilities across its portfolio to cater to the changing needs of Australian consumers.

This year, the company will refresh 41 sites across Australia and complete works on 15 new locations that commenced in 2017.

Dandenong funeral home is located on 137 Princes Hwy, Dandenong, VIC 3175.

Funeral Home of the Future

InvoCare is revolutionising the funeral industry again by investing in market changing facilities and services.

Technology

Family and friends all over the world will now be able to share in the celebration of life via webcasting, streaming, and recording systems.

Tailored Space

Spaces will no longer be restricted by fixed furnishing and small unwelcoming rooms.  Chapels have done away with fixed pews so that the space can be tailored for every service and there are lighter, brighter, larger functions spaces.

Environment Matters

Light and bright is the focus of the new sites. Large windows will let in an abundance of natural light while small touches such as real flowers, water features, and comfortable soft furnishings will add to the warmth of our services.
