Wildcat food trucks endangering public health

Announcement posted by The Audacious Agency 18 Apr 2018

Entrepreneurs unaware of licensing procedures putting customers at risk of contracting food-borne illnesses.

Sydney, NSW – Over the past decade, food trucks have morphed from grimy trailers known for mediocre food to mobile eateries which have made pushing the culinary envelope their mission.

Freed from the prohibitive costs of opening in a fixed location and able to go where their customers were, budding restaurateurs were suddenly able to experiment without risking the survival of their business.

However, some operators have embraced the ‘fail forward fast’ mentality in their rush to become a successful business. Often, these entrepreneurs are unaware of the need to be certified by their local council, putting their customers at risk in the process.

Lacking the knowledge required to protect public health, they not only risk damage to their reputation should they sicken their customers, but they also risk receiving civil penalties ranging from fines to the closure of their establishment.

Most aspiring food truck owners want to introduce their clientele to inspired cuisine – they just end up getting overwhelmed by the technical aspects of building a business.

Fortunately, online startup Start Your Food Business (StartYourFoodBusiness.com.au) now offer courses which will help new food entrepreneurs understand the administrative aspects of running their own enterprise.

Founders Megna Murali and Aarjit Iyer have taken their extensive experience in the food and beverage industry and condensed it into a series of detailed lessons covering areas such business planning, product development, food safety, and launch strategies.

Previously a food technologist, Aarijit understands “...how complex and confusing food production and formulation is...through experience, Megna and I were able to overcome many challenges along the way.”

Further, Megna is motivated by the opportunity to “...share our experience and knowledge with (new food entrepreneurs) so that they don’t have to learn via trial-and-error, making it easier to build a successful and sustainable food business faster.”

Unlike conventional classes, which are held at a fixed time and place, the courses offered through Start Your Food Business grant busy startup entrepreneurs the ability to learn on their own schedule and at their own pace.

Their pricing is attractive as well – with a launch special of $247 before May 1 ($697 after), bootstrappers will be able to find room in their budget for information which will prove vital to their success.

With handy worksheets, industry contacts, and the opportunity for one-on-one mentoring with Megna and Aarjit included, this course represents a unique chance for soon-to-be food truck owners to start off on the right foot this summer.

Lessons start May 1 – sign up today at StartYourFoodBusiness.com.au!
