Cyber Security Specialist emt Distribution Takes on ThreatConnect Threat Intelligence Platform in Australia and New Zealand

Announcement posted by emt Distribution 18 Apr 2018

Extends the cyber capabilities that channel partners can provide for threat intelligence, threat analytics and threat orchestration, all via a single platform
Adelaide, Australia – 18 April 2018: Cyber security software specialist, emt Distribution today announced it has been appointed as Australian and New Zealand distributor for Arlington, Virginia-based security firm, ThreatConnect.

emt offers solutions that address the Australian Signals Directorate’s Top 4 mitigation strategies and the broader strategies in the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM) to prevent cyber security incidents. The addition of ThreatConnect to emt’s portfolio deepens the capabilities the distributor offers to manage the threat landscape.

“We are excited to work with emt Distribution. They have a solid record of developing a strong channel and sales for security vendors who are at the forefront of their fields,” said Adam Vincent, CEO and founder of ThreatConnect. “ThreatConnect is looking to accelerate sales in Australia and New Zealand, and our relationship with emt is a key part of that strategy.”

This is ThreatConnect’s first direct distribution channel in Australia and New Zealand, and is integral to the company’s planned expansion to meet the growing demand for security technology worldwide. emt Distribution will offer ThreatConnect’s suite of products and services, enabling enterprise resellers to easily deliver a complete threat intelligence platform – plus orchestration and automation – to their customers.

“We are delighted with securing ThreatConnect as the newest addition to our portfolio of cyber security solutions,” said Richard Rundle, CEO of emt Distribution. “ThreatConnect significantly extends the cyber capabilities our channel partners can provide in threat intelligence, threat analytics and threat orchestration, all via a single platform.”

After more than a decade of research, innovation and investment in the cyber security industry, the “Detection Deficit” between attackers and defenders is near an all-time high. While many contributory factors exist, extreme fragmentation of enterprise security people, processes and technologies is chief among them.

Security teams, security operations centres and security analysts need all the help they can get to speed up threat analysis processes and deliver the actionable intelligence needed to defend their organisations. One of the challenges in managing the threat landscape is visibility across multiple separate cyber security systems. ThreatConnect integrates with over 100 different security solutions to join the dots and give organisations real situational awareness.

From nation state actors to malicious insider threats, cyber threats and cybercrime pose an enormous burden and risk to Australia’s growing digital economy. In a June 2017 press release1 from the Prime Minister, the Minister for Defence and the Minister Assisting the Prime Minister for Cyber Security, cyber crime was conservatively estimated to cost the Australian economy $1 billion a year.

ThreatConnect’s Platform was built to solve the problem of analysing massive volumes of data to see patterns, gain context and find relationships so organisations can learn more about cyber threats. The platform brings together the ThreatConnect data model, advanced data analytics and collaborative intelligence to provide a complete picture about threats.

“The capabilities ThreatConnect offers are vitally important for detecting, preventing, reporting and managing cyber security incidents,” said Scott Hagenus, Chief Marketing Officer of emt Distribution. “Post incident analysis of intrusions helps organisations understand the impacts of cyber threats, the remediation required and effective prevention strategies in the context of their operations.”
