Announcement posted by Norwood Systems 09 Sep 2003
Leading Australian ideas company, Saatchi & Saatchi, will install EnterpriseMobility, a Bluetooth-based wireless voice and data networking solution from Norwood Systems as part of the companys overall telecommunications upgrade program.
Saatchi & Saatchi, based at The Rocks in Sydney, is an early-technology-adopting company. It will deploy EnterpriseMobility to replace the existing tannoy paging system in place at the company, providing an effective, wire less communications solution, that will include voice recognition and teleworker facilities.
According to Mike Satterthwaite, Saatchi & Saatchis General Manager, the EnterpriseMobility product will allow staff to be quickly and efficiently found anywhere in the office without interrupting other people.
It is just another way of ensuring optimum service to our clients whilst facilitating mobility within the office. The cost savings by reducing mobile calls is an added bonus, he said.
Initially ten EnterpriseMobility base stations will be deployed at Saatchi & Saatchi to provide coverage in the creative and production areas of the agency. Approximately twenty staff involved in the initial rollout phase will be provided withwireless headsets, which will enable key staff to be reached at all times.
EnterpriseMobility is a wireless connectivity product that enables employees to communicate when in the office.EnterpriseMobility routes calls wirelessly to employees via the PABX so that they can be reached on their usual office number via a headset and benefit from fixed rate call tariffs in a wireless environment.
Terry Walsh, VP Sales and Marketing Asia Pacific of Norwood Systems said, We are delighted Saatchi & Saatchi has taken this initiative and adopted Norwoods powerful wireless- office mobility platform. The functionality and benefits of our EnterpriseMobility platform provide an innovative solution to Saatchi& Saatchi'scommunication needs and we are confident the deployment will be expanded both in the local office and beyond."
