Enhance Family Day Care welcomes educators, staff and families after Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care closure
Enhance Family Day Care are proud to welcome 30 educators and existing staff from the Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme, ensuring the local community can continue to access quality family day care. The Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme provided high quality care to families in Bundaberg for over 35 years, but ceased operations due to Federal Government funding changes.
Enhance Family Day Care is operated by Approved Provider, Family Day Care Association of Queensland, a not for profit organisation and the peak body for family day care in Queensland. The Association has more than 40 years’ experience in home based quality early learning.
Family Day Care Association of Queensland’s Executive Manager Peta McNellie said Enhance is proud to work with these educators so they can continue to be an invaluable asset to Bundaberg. They will continue to provide support to families by delivering high quality family day care and retain their rich relationships with their local communities.
Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care Scheme staff Sean Harper, Shannon James, and Brenda Horan will also continue their roles with Enhance Family Day Care, retaining a collective 50 years’ experience working with the local community. Enhance Family Day Care will continue to operate out of Bundaberg Baptist Family Day Care’s office in Norville.
Enhance Family Day Care offers services throughout Queensland from Ipswich to Cooktown. They offer high quality, regulated, legally compliant and flexible services, including all-day care, part-time, evening, overnight, casual, before and after school care, and care during school holidays in the home of an qualified educator.
Ms McNellie said that Enhance Family Day Care honour children and childhood by nurturing and guiding. They emphasise children’s competency and child-directed learning. Fun, safety and inclusion are key priorities.
Building local communities is also an important value for Enhance. Each Enhance service is locally run and educators are members of the local community. This allows services to reflect the needs of their area. Many services have playgroups, common play spaces and areas for our parents, carers and families to connect, relax and interact, while the children play.
Ms McNellie said, ‘Bundaberg parents, carers and educators can also be confident that Enhance Family Day Care are committed to ensuring that our services are high quality and work with the National Quality Standards. Our focus is ensuring the best possible outcomes for children, families and the local community, not profit.’
