New video showcases award-winning “Revitalising Central Dandenong” project

Announcement posted by Citygreen Systems 21 May 2018

A new video released by Citygreen today showcases the award-winning, $290 million “Revitalising Central Dandenong” project, commenced in 2010. Set in Dandenong, the central hub in Melbourne’s growing southeast corridor, the project aimed to rejuvenate the city centre and create a fresh new future for the city.

Following on from Citygreen’s initial project report, this comprehensive video showcases the commercial and environmental success of the project 8 years down the track and features interviews with Scott Adams – Landscape Architect at Taylor Cullity Lethlean, Sugan Blanchard – Construction Manager at Canteri Bros, and Citygreen Consultant Nathaniel Hardy.

The video showcases Citygreen’s innovative Strataflow system in action, demonstrating how it structurally supports the surrounding hardscaped pavements, provides loose soil for the 250 Pin Oak trees planted, captures stormwater, directs it into the soil for filtering, and ultimately leverages it as a passive irrigation source. Today, the trees are thriving and have grown significantly without causing any damage to surrounding infrastructure or hardscaped surfaces.

Citygreen’s Strataflow technology has been hugely successful, with the project achieving significant environmental, urban and social stimulus and winning numerous urban and architectural awards, including Master Builders. Today, Lonsdale Street is one of Melbourne’s great boulevards with a green and pedestrian-friendly main street encompassing the city’s vibrant retail industry. But, as Sugan Blanchard says, “The proof is in the pudding.” Watch the video and see the results for yourself.
