Largest foreign-invested private hospital group credits InterSystems role in its rapid expansion
BEIJING, China, June 4, 2018 – InterSystems, a global leader in information technology platforms for health, business and government applications, today announced that it has signed a new five-year agreement with United Family Healthcare (UFH) group, China’s largest foreign-invested healthcare provider, after a successful 10-year partnership.

UFH, which operates private hospitals and health clinics in major cities throughout China, provides comprehensive, integrated healthcare in a personalized, patient-centered way. Patients include both local residents and international visitors, with an emphasis on holistic family care.

The entire UFH healthcare network is supported by a unified InterSystems TrakCare® electronic medical record (EMR) solution, which shares patient information in real time. This helps doctors and nurses to efficiently deliver healthcare, based on informed decisions, in a consistent and coordinated manner across all facilities.

Roberta Lipson, CEO of United Family Healthcare, acknowledged the role InterSystems and TrakCare have played in the provider’s success, helping it deliver premium quality services and a great patient experience, while meeting increasing demand for those services.

“In the past, we opened a new hospital every few years. This year, we started to do the same every few months,” said Lipson. “InterSystems has always been ready to respond quickly to our requirements. Sometimes we put big pressures on them, but they have always delivered.”

Since 2008, UFH has utilized TrakCare to continuously improve and gain recognition for the quality of its healthcare services. Late last year, for example, Beijing United Family Healthcare – already accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI) – became the first private healthcare organization in China certified by HIMSS to achieve Stage 6 of the Inpatient Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).

The ability for the centralized TrakCare deployment to scale easily across multiple locations, while supporting multiple languages and multiple currencies, has also aided UFH’s rapid expansion.

UFH and InterSystems have now entered into a strategic cooperation agreement for another five years.

Underscoring its long-term partnerships with healthcare providers, KLAS Research recently named InterSystems an “A-list” vendor within KLAS’ newly released report, “Decision Insights 2018.” The analysis found that InterSystems has demonstrated a track record of high market energy, with high overall customer satisfaction and high customer retention scores.

“United Family Hospitals was InterSystems’ first TrakCare customer in China,” said Luciano Brustia, Country Manager of Greater China for InterSystems. “Empowering our partners to succeed is what we are focused on and what we will continue to do with UFH.”
