Announcement posted by Early Childhood School Pty Ltd 06 Jun 2018

Early Childhood School Pty Ltd receives development approval for school in the City of Melville

17 April 2018 – Melville, Western Australia.

Perth’s first dedicated independent early childhood school has been given development approval from the City of Melville. The school will initially provide two combined pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes (20 students per class), and one 2-Year-Old-Kindy class (10 students per class). The opening is scheduled for early August 2018.

There is a need in Australia for quality pre-school services, which cater for 3-year-olds. Studies have shown the tangible benefits for 3-year-old children who attend pre-kindergarten two days a week, with regards to improved long-term learning outcomes (Fox, 2016). Based on our research, there is currently a gap in pre-kindergarten services in the City of Melville. The development of Applecross Pre-Kindy & Kindy assists in meeting this gap by providing a quality care and educational service for 3-year-olds, while also meeting working parents’ needs for long hours care.

Our school will provide:

      Services for over 200 families in the City of Melville

      A Pre-Kindy & Kindy program for up to fifty 3-5 year-olds (staged over two years)
