International House Cape Town proudly announced their cooperation with Yes We Can Fly

8th June 2018 : Cape Town, South-Africa International House Cape Town [IH Cape Town] proudly announced their cooperation with Yes We Can Fly to improve the chances less privileged young African adults have and help them with following their passion for aviation.

IH Cape Town will help participants of the programme with English classes, in particular the English for Aviation course (ICAO). The ICAO English courses are given in different levels, 4 to 6, depending on the aspirations of the student. ICAO level 4 is the lowest but is enough to fly in every country in the world. ICAO level 6 is the highest level and individuals demonstrating this level of proficiency are not required to renew their language proficiency endorsement further. IH Cape Town will also provide standard and intensive English courses to raise the level of English proficiency of participants who need it.

Gavin Eyre, the managing director of IH Cape Town, is thrilled about the cooperation with Yes We Can Fly. As he said, IH Cape Town is very proud to become a partner with Yes We Can Fly as their preferred English language provider for their clients in Africa. Aviation for the up-coming youth of Africa is of paramount importance for the growth of the African continent and we are very privileged to be part of this exciting journey.”

Tarisai Tara Mabuto , the co founder of Yes We Can Fly , expressed her delight about the partnership and said, Yes We Can Fly is very excited about the potential this partnership offers to students. We see it as a means to eradicate the language barriers that have been disqualifying the African aviation enthusiast from fully engaging in professional aviation activities. English is the official language of aviation and unfortunately there are only a handful of countries in Africa where English is an official language. With slang, accents and history in the mix, it’s not always easy to understand or be understood when speaking English in Africa. Our partnership with IH Cape Town will not only bridge this language barrier, but will contribute to the growth of African aviation, one proficient English speaking aviator at a time.”

International House Cape Town is part of the International House World Organisation (www.ihworld.com), a group of 150 language schools in over 50 countries world-wide teaching English and modern languages to both foreign and local students. IH Cape Town is also an accredited aviation testing centre with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (ATO CAA/0370).
