Announcement posted by Thurnham Teece 21 Jun 2018

WITNESS THE THRILLS AND SPILLS OF THE UPPER HUNTER’S OWN BILLY CART RACE!
Come down for a family fun day at Carl Street, Muswellbrook on Saturday 23 June 2018

Our society has lost a sense of good old fashioned fun, and Hunter Life Education want to bring it back. Plans for the inaugural Hunter Soap Box Derby, sponsored by BHP Mt Arthur Coal, are in full swing. Kids and kids at heart will be racing home-made billy carts downhill in suburban Muswellbrook from 9am on Saturday 23 June 2018, vying for winner’s bragging rights.

The PCYC Muswellbrook carpark will play host to much of the festivities, where there will be an event opening ceremony attended and opened by current sitting Hunter political personalities, food, family attractions, market stalls, vintage cars, Fire Engine with hose play, baby animal petting zoo, and of course billy carts whizzing down the hill on Carl Street, Muswellbrook.

Local business has provided much support of this event, specifically Muswellbrook Shire Council, Coates Hire Muswellbrook, ARTC, PCYC Muswellbrook, Home Timber and Hardware, along with many other wonderful event supporters.
