Early bird registrations open for groundbreaking regional arts gathering

Artlands Victoria - Australia's largest regional arts conference

Early birds are now open for Artlands Victoria, the groundbreaking regional arts event taking place in Bendigo and Castlemaine this October.

For the first time in its twenty year history, Artlands – Australia’s largest regional arts gathering – will be presented as an integrated conference and cultural program.

Artlands Creative Producer Ros Abercrombie has designed a multi-art, cross industry and inter-generational event that will build regional connections.

“The event aims to combine a curated program of exhibitions, dance, music and performance, alongside works in progress, explorations and commissioned projects with a conference speakers program,” Ros said.

“It has been designed to reflect and respond to the emerging trends and needs of regional artists and the regional arts industry, to stimulate critical reflection and provide much-needed opportunity for the industry to gather, present work and enter into meaningful exchange.”

“It has been important to us in the planning of Artlands, that the event includes a range of voices across generations, cultures, practice and industry, both as speakers and delegates.”

To support diverse delegates to attend the event, Artlands Victoria is offering heavily subsidised tickets and travel bursaries for independent artists and practitioners.

Artlands Victoria will take place in Bendigo and Castlemaine from 10-14 October this year. Early bird registrations and artist subsidies are now open and will close on Friday 13 July, 2018. https://artlands.com.au/register-now
