It is our great pleasure to announce the winners of the 7th annual Serious Games Showcase & Challenge Australasia (SGSCA).

Convenor of the SGSCA Dale Linegar said “The winners this year highlight the wide range of ways that serious games are being used in Australia and New Zealand to educate and inform - from teaching young children about geography and culture, to teaching would be surgeons non-invasive surgery.“

Robert Barry from Cultural Infusion, enjoyed being part of the showcase and challenge.

“This is an incredible honor for Joko’s World: Pocket Planet to be selected as the winner of the Serious Games Showcase & Challenge Australasia in the Industry Category.  The whole team has worked hard, and are thrilled to receive it. The nominations this year were incredibly strong, and it was a pleasure to interact with everyone and see the other fantastic work at the showcase. What is truly exhilarating about receiving this award is the recognition and new opportunities it will provide to further the mission of Joko; exciting children and adults about the world with the view to building global harmony.”

Carolyn Mee, of cmee4 Productions, said “It’s very exciting to have won the Serious Games Showcase and Challenge event for the second time. We’re focused on improving health outcomes using games and this award supports our efforts. We look forward to representing Australia at the international event later in the year.”
