Diebold Nixdorf introduces integrated digital onboarding service for leading bank in Middle East

Announcement posted by Filtered Media | telling your story, brilliantly 04 Jul 2018

Australian banks can benefit too from multi-functional interactive terminals that enable access to branch services beyond banking hours

SYDNEY, Australia – Diebold Nixdorf, a world leader in driving connected commerce, has partnered with Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the Middle East, to bring banking consumers the region's first integrated, digital kiosk. The device, which is suitable for banks around the world including in Australia, will allow customers to sign up for new products and access a variety of bank services.

Functioning like a mini-branch that is open beyond normal banking hours any day of the week, Emirates NBD EasyHub is enabled by Diebold Nixdorf's Vynamic™ Connection Points, a flexible, multi-vendor self-service software allowing the implementation of customised applications. EasyHub will offer customers a self-service banking experience aided by a video banker who guides them via onscreen instructions and step-by-step assistance.

EasyHub will enable individual customers to open accounts of their choice and instantly obtain a personalised debit card. Customers can conduct all routine teller services, such as cash deposit and withdrawal, check cashing and deposits, and internal fund transfers. Additionally, customers can carry out a variety of banking services, such as updating personal details, requesting a checkbook or authenticated statements and even applying for a personal loan, without having to wait at a bank counter.

The innovative solution comes equipped with a debit card dispenser, biometric signature pad, an A4 document scanner and statement printer, a specialised ID card reader, a cash recycler and coin dispenser as well as a near field communication receiver for contactless transactions.

This technology presents an exciting opportunity to implement a similar digital customer onboarding solution for Australian banks and their customers.

Commenting on the 51st birthday of ATMs that was celebrated recently on 27 June 2018, Jon Marks, Vice President & Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand, Diebold Nixdorf said, “Diebold Nixdorf is proud to be part of the next evolution of ATMs, by providing technology to  banks that enable on the spot client activity, allowing a customer to go from being completely ‘unbanked’ to being completely ‘banked’.

“You still have to meet all requirements to set up an account, but now you can do this through a digital kiosk, at 6am on a Sunday morning without stepping foot into a branch, if you so choose.

“We’re honoured to be working with leading banking partners such as Emirates NBD to collaboratively innovate to introduce a complete digital customer onboarding solution, and help empower the bank's digital transformation journey.

“We look forward to strategically partnering with leading Australian banks to deliver our standard portfolio of solutions and also develop customised solutions that fit their current-state and future-state needs while ensuring they meet local certification requirements,” Marks said.
