Navman's 2018 MiVUE Dash Cam Range release - The Devil's in the Detail

Announcement posted by Navman Australia 05 Jul 2018

NOT ALL DASH CAMERAS ARE CREATED EQUAL
Navman has unveiled its 2018 MiVUE dash cam range, where the highest quality features give drivers peace of mind that crucial details will be captured as evidence to show police and insurance companies. Built with the knowledge and quality gained from over 8 years building dash cameras, the new range also offers even more assurance wherever you are, with WIFI capabilities to save and send footage on the go, and lifetime safety camera updates that can prevent hefty fines.

The first three devices released in the line up of four are: MiVUE 740, MiVUE 790 WIFI and MiVUE 800 Dual Camera.

Wendy Hammond, General Manager of Navman Australia and New Zealand, said, “Not all dash cams are created to the same standard as ours. When you buy a low quality dash cam you can run the risk of  important details being missed. You don't want to wait until you make an insurance claim or police accident report to find out you don’t have clear footage that captures a number plate or enough information about the direction and speed of the impact.

“All Navman MiVUE dash cams come with top quality features as standard, and our higher end models have a few more capabilities that offer extra assurance and convenience.  For instance, the MiVUE 790 WIFI offers extra peace of mind on the go with EZYSHARE via WIFI. You can view or email video footage immediately or upload to social media sites via the free MiVUE Pro App on your smartphone. So if someone drove off after an accident, you could post it immediately and ask, “do you know this car”? And it's not just for bad times, the MiVUE Pro app makes it really easy to share anything you see that’s interesting, useful, beautiful or funny too.”

The MiVUE790 has lifetimesafety camera alerts for up-to-date warnings of upcoming cameras. These visual and audible alerts will go off based on your driving speed.

The MiVUE 790 WIFI is dual channel capable, in case you decide to get a rear camera at a later date.

All models have incredible features that come as standard: 2.7” LCD screens (the MiVUE 790 WIFI has a touchscreen); GPS Tagged Videos and 3-Axis G sensor records direction of travel, location, vehicle speed and G-Force of an impact, along with the exact location and time an incident occurred; Event Mode automatically saves a recording on impact; Parking Mode records what’s going on around your car when you are away from (it works with the MiVUE Smartbox power cable, purchased additionally, for continuous power even when the engine has been turned off, without draining your car’s battery).

They also feature a Rotating Design, Full HD 1080p cameras with Glass Lenses and 130°Wide Angle Lens to capture more detail such as lanes on either side (the MiVUE 790 WIFI has a 140° angle lens) and 2 Mega Pixel CMOS Cameras for Optimised Day And Night Recording which balances the light to

Live View function also enables the user to see a live view of what the dash cam is seeing and recording whilst connected to your smartphone.
