Businesses to benefit from launch of WA start-up

B2Me Australia the latest WA-based startup to drive business success was launched on Thursday evening (July 12), by Dr Ray Bartell, to a packed audience.

The community driven, marketing platform is an innovative way for businesses to market directly to consumers. The service provider platform, based on established referral groups including sporting clubs, school groups and other network community links has attracted 1000 businesses.

“B2Me has been designed as a community building enterprise,” said Dr Bartell.

It is a service-finding, reputation-driven platform that helps you to find, access, connect and engage with service providers recommended by friends or affiliate communities as well as the broader marketplace.”

The event, held at the Joondalup Resort, was presented to 120 business owners and VIP guests including Federal MP, Ian Goodenough and the City of Joondalup, Mayor, Albert Jacob.

Dr Bartell utilised his community development expertise from five years working and living with Papua New Guinea’s Kyaka people to fill a void, he believes, is lacking in the way businesses are marketed within the business world.

“I could see every community had amazing strengths and once understood, brought to the surface, and mobilised towards the common good, that’s when I saw some amazing change,” he said.

“When I came back to Australia, I started to see gaps in our culture and wanted to see something of the sense of community here, as I had seen in PNG. I decided I wanted to play my part in rebuilding a sense of community.

Utilising the skills of people who are local within a community by finding out which friends and community associations are using a specific service provider is a win-win situation,” explained Dr Bartell.”

B2ME has been a year in the making since the first proof of concept and has involved key influencers, including Edith Cowan University ’s – The Link – Office of Research and Innovation during the latter development stages to ensure an easy-to-use, reliable platform.
