VOXON PHOTONICS WINS AT THE NATIONAL IAWARDS, CREATING THE HOLOGRAPHIC FUTURE YOU WERE PROMISED

31/08/2018 Adelaide based company, Voxon Photonics, creators of the world’s most advanced 3D volumetric display (think Star Wars inspired holograms), is taking the world by storm. The inspiration for their world leading technology is largely driven by the holograms seen in science fiction. Voxon founders Will Tamblyn and Gavin Smith, having started their quest to bring you “the future you were promised” in an Adelaide shed around 10 years ago, are now starting to see Voxon’s technology get noticed worldwide.

31/08/2018 - Melbourne - Australian innovator Voxon Photonics was yesterday named winner the Consumer Markets category at the National Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAwards, the nation’s leading awards program for technology innovation.

Last night’s win is the latest in a string of accolades for the Adelaide based technology company. Voxon Photonics CEO Will Tamblyn described the win as “A fantastic night. To be recognised amongst such unbelievable businesses and innovative technologies is just unbelievable. The calibre of previous winners is incredible, to be put in the same category as Atlassian and Xero is a proud moment for us.”

AIIA CEO, Rob Fitzpatrick spoke after the event, “What we’ve seen from our finalists this evening is awe-inspiring. It’s real proof of the power of innovation to change our world. We’re especially proud tonight, as for 25 years AIIA’s iAwards has been bringing inventive minds together from all Australian states and territories. AIIA congratulates 2018 iAwards winners and finalists. The inspiration behind this year’s iAwards program has been truly staggering. We look forward to the next 25 years of celebrating innovation.”

Voxon’s 3D volumetric technology brings digital content to life and helps empower people to visualise, communicate, learn and have fun in a collaborative manner with no need for glasses, goggles or headgear. Voxon Photonics have now sold the Voxon VX1 3D volumetric display in more than 15 countries around the world and are getting noticed by some of the world’s leading technology organisations in a multitude of markets such as education, medical, gaming, engineering visualization, communications, automotive and marketing.

The VX1 allows objects, animations, games and real-time 3D data being able to be viewed from any angle by a number of people, the display also becomes a social experience. The volumetric technology may be cutting-edge however emotionally, it couldn’t be simpler. When people see the VX1 in action, regardless of their age, interests or background, they are mesmerized. There, right in front of their eyes, is science fiction – magic – made real.

Voxon is attending major events such as TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco and Mobile World Congress Americas in LA and then heading to the Tokyo Game Show, all in September. Partnering with some of the world’s largest and most innovative companies, the future is bright for Voxon Photonics. For those of us that needed holograms, the future is here.
