The Aussie Invader Team eye Nevada for the World Land Speed Record

Announcement posted by Aussie Invader 07 Sep 2018

The pursuit for a major sponsor continues globally

(PERTH, 07 September 2018) Rosco McGlashan OAM and his team are in fast pursuit of a major sponsor for the Aussie Invader 5R, a rocket powered car designed to challenge the World Land Speed Record in 2020.

The team has been considering moving this Australian-borne project to the US for its historic supersonic speed record to capitalise on market opportunities and position itself for a major US sponsor.

“We’ve been looking at home for some local assistance to help bring us to the finish line and have come up flat”, says McGlashan, who currently holds the record as the “Fastest Aussie on Earth”.

The Aussie Invader 5R project has been self-funded by both corporate and personal contributions from families and friends.

Over the past 15-years, they have designed and produced a Bi-Propellant rocket powered car worth $1.5M but require 10-times that amount to bring the World Land Speed Record title to Australia.

The team may be forced, therefore, to run the event in the US.

The public is encouraged to visit https://www.supersonicselfie.com and upload their selfies for $20 to buy a place in history where their photos will be mounted on the car during the historic record setting event.
