FestEVIL at the FANGtuary this Halloween

Announcement posted by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary 12 Sep 2018

Celebrate Halloween this October at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s FestEVIL at the FANGtuary - a night brimming with creepy crawlies, winged creatures and things that definitely ‘go bump in the night’!
On Friday 26th October, people of all ages are encouraged to enter the Sanctuary from dusk at their own risk for a family night of frightful fun, designed to tickle the senses with a range of nocturnal activities.

Come dressed in your spookiest outfits and ride the themed ghost train that snakes its way through the Sanctuary at night, or explore the nocturnal corridor and discover what bats really get up to after dark, or even have your photo taken with slithering snakes and watchful owls.

National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary General Manager Michael Kelly said that FestEVIL at the FANGtuary is the perfect opportunity for some unique family entertainment.

“We only open up the Sanctuary at night for rare special events,” said Michael. “We’ve found over the past few years that we have been celebrating the Halloween event that families really enjoy the opportunity to dress up and explore our attractions and animals in the dark.”

The Friday night Sanctuary markets, staged every Friday evening on the Village Green in the Sanctuary, is a great first stop for dinner, followed by an evening of spooks and scares with gates opening from 6-9pm.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase some of our favourite furry and winged friends at night, with the added benefit of activities like Trick or Treat, fun kids’ wildlife show, spooky disco and keep your eye out for Blinky Bill.”

Entry to the FANGtuary is $15 per person, $12.50 per National Trust Member. Kids under four are free but must have booked a ticket to be admitted and must be accompanied by a paying adult.

“Tickets to the event are limited, and I’d encourage anyone interested in attending our FestEVIL at the FANGtuary this year to book online early to avoid disappointment.”
