RIGCOM Access launches ALTUM™ System

Announcement posted by RIGCOM Access 17 Sep 2018

RIGCOM Access is pleased to formally launch the ALTUM™ Height Access Management System

- the most advanced and comprehensive database system for managing access to height safety system records on the market. The patent-pending system has been developed in response to the significant market need for access to real-time records, including the history of a building’s compliance documentation, certifications and its currency of service.

“ALTUM sets the benchmark for documentation access in industry”, explains RIGCOM Access CEO, Craig Myton. “Accessing all relevant data about the safety systems on your building or structure can be achieved by using your smart phone or tablet device in a matter of seconds.”

Historically, height safety system records including service dates were highly reliant on a spreadsheet system, with a vigilant facility manager to keep an eye on progress and maintain the currency by engaging accredited inspectors to provide re-certifications when needed. This type of system does however rely wholly on the person being consistently in place and highly disciplined on record keeping. The ALTUM System removes this need as all data is available 24/7 by anyone who needs access to it from the centralised web portal.

ALTUM can also be used to manage contractor access to sites. By scanning the QR code at the site entry, the operator can be required to complete an induction video or answer a series of questions prior to gaining entry to a security code, or even be required to provide evidence of a SWMS prior to commencement. This provides a higher level of security and control over access to these higher risk locations. ALTUM also allows the manager to generate reports on who is accessing the locations and when and verify time completed on site.

“The ALTUM system allows Facility Managers to be in complete control and access years of historical data about a location. They can view site layouts, risk assessments, and utilise the auditing reports to plan capital works programs for future years,” said Myton. “ALTUM also provides all staff and contractors with the confidence that a site is safe for access by noting whether it is within current service.”
