30 million people choosing a new way to work

Freelancer.com, the world’s largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace by total number of users and jobs posted, has hit 30 million registered users across 247 countries, regions and territories around the globe.

“This new milestone illustrates the global appetite for new ways of working, with tens of millions of people around the world opting for the flexibility, autonomy and opportunity offered by the Freelancer.com marketplace,” Freelancer.com CEO Matt Barrie said.

Today, well over 10 million people in Freelancer.com’s global community are based in India and the United States alone. Millions more are located in the United Kingdom, Pakistan, the Philippines, Brazil, Indonesia, Australia, Canada and Bangladesh -- which together, make up the top 10 countries by user numbers in the Freelancer.com global marketplace.

Freelancer.com welcomes up to 15,000 new users and up to 7,000 new jobs every single day. Over the past year, the most popular categories of jobs posted on the Freelancer.com marketplace include website development, data entry, copywriting and graphic design.

As part of the celebrations marking the 30 million user milestone, Freelancer.com is offering a share in US$5,000 worth of prizes for the best projects in architecture, branding, 3D and digital posted on the marketplace, with the talented individuals behind the winning projects given the chance to become the ‘new face of Freelancer’.
