Have Some Serious Fun at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary This School Holidays

Announcement posted by Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary 21 Sep 2018

From September 22nd join all your furry and feathered friends at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for loads of holiday action with Adults at Kids’ prices.
Come and see the new Lemur brothers – Sunni and Katta - at the captivating LOST VALLEY precinct, along with over 20 bird species residing in the spectacular rainforest aviary.

“Eight-year-old old Sunni has been establishing himself as the dominant member of the troop, along with 12-year old Katta, who enjoys sweet potato daily and his favourite treat of bananas,” said National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary General Manager Michael Kelly.

This cute pair differ from resident LOST VALLEY Lemurs, Andro and Vintana, with much fluffier fur and varied markings, and these holidays provide the perfect opportunity to check out the stunning 5-acre precinct they call home.

“LOST VALLEY was three years in the making and opened last Christmas to create a living, breathing rainforest that is home to breathtaking botanicals, exotic animals and free-flying birds.”

“It also houses our cotton-top tamarins and capybaras who both now have special encounters, so people can get up close and personal with these interesting animals. ”

Three times a day, every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday you can meet and feed the inquisitive and adorable Cotton-top Tamarins - Toro, Arami and Pablo.

While once daily, every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, you can meet the world’s largest rodent at the Capybara Encounter.

“Our animal encounters at LOST VALLEY have been incredibly popular and with ticket prices only $39 and limited places, they sell out fast so booking online prior to entry is always advisable.”

LOST VALLEY is also home to the adorable red panda, MoMo, Diego the Green Iguana and tree kangaroos.

A day out at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary delivers incredible opportunities to go wild for people of all ages, with interesting and unique animals and birdlife.

“There really is something for the entire family – from the daily spectacular that is the Crocodiles Live show and feeding, to a range of other Australian fauna, the beauty of our aviaries, to Aboriginal Dance Show, Blinky Bill’s Studio Adventure, our quintessential Lorikeet feeding, Segway tours and so much more.”

“A day out at the Sanctuary will entertain and educate the whole family this school holidays,” Michael said.
