Tangerine Telecom launches new nation-wide 4G mobile plans

Announcement posted by Tangerine Telecom 25 Sep 2018

NBN specialist ISP, Tangerine Telecom, has just launched a range of competitive 4G mobile plans using the Telstra mobile network, which is set to pioneer the range and scope of network coverage for consumers Australia-wide.

These new plans mean Tangerine is now able to offer 4G mobile voice and data services to 96.5% of the Australian population. When combined with 3G coverage this will equate to 98.8% of the Australian population being in range, covering 1.62 million square kilometres.

Tangerine CEO Andrew Branson comments, “With the rapid decline the industry is seeing in the use of home phones, it’s important that Tangerine has a competitive mobile plan that offers wide-reaching national coverage to consumers. The Telstra network allows us to provide this long-awaited service, and we are currently in the process of marketing these plans to new and existing customers.”

Tangerine Telecom’s mobile plans are already quite competitive within the communications market; their plans start from $15 per month, provide unlimited standard calls, SMS and MMS and a range of data inclusions. An international calling pack can also be added to any plan providing 120 minutes of international calls across 64 international destinations.

Branson goes on to say “With this access to the Telstra 3G and 4G network there is no limit to what we are going to see in the near future when it comes to innovation in the communications industry. For us it will start with an NBN 4G backup, which will ensure that households connected to the NBN with Tangerine always have access to internet services, even if there are difficulties with the NBN network”.
