Keystone Involved in Atura Hotel at Adelaide Airport Project

Announcement posted by Keystone Acoustics Australia 22 Oct 2018

Acoustic panel specialist Keystone has been involved in the recently completed Atura Hotel at Adelaide Airport.

Acoustic panel specialist Keystone has been involved in the recently completed Atura Hotel at Adelaide Airport. The hotel is an ultra-convenient accommodation option for inbound and outbound travellers, situated just metres from Adelaide’s domestic and international terminal.

Keystone supplied Key-Ply 12mm AC Hoop Pine plywood perforated ceiling panels in the lobby, working with their south Australian representative Guy Surfaces. These panels were cleverly machined with a reverse cone-shaped perforation to eliminate the visibility of the internal edge profile within the perforations, thus creating the dark shadow. The ground floor lobby area includes a restaurant and bar area, with a walkway on level 2 directly linking the hotel with the airports domestic and international check-in area.

Perforated Key-Ply panels are engineered to create a natural and organic timber appearance. A variety of aesthetics can be created with pre-finishes including metallic, wood grain and pearl effects with a variety of perforation patterns and borders. The inherent acoustic qualities of timber can be combined with comprehensive perforation techniques and backing materials to achieve optimum noise reduction, especially when used with K100 backing.

Depending on the open area, slotted or perforated pattern being used, Key-Ply can be an excellent sound insulator. The acoustic qualities of timber can be optimised by Keystone Acoustics’ compressed perforation techniques and various backing materials they have available. This option creates a natural timber appearance that is often chosen for its warmth, beauty and natural acoustic properties.

By adding Key-Ply perforated plywood panels it creates an atmosphere of organic elegance. Its powerful acoustic qualities will provide sound insulation to further add to the ambience you have created.

Key-Ply perforated plywood is perfect for interior and exterior walls and ceilings, including high traffic area walls, high-impact wall linings in shopping centres and hotels, hallways, auditoriums, theatres and studios.

Keystone collaborated with architects HASSELL, builders and installers Adelaide Partitions and Ceilings for this project. The company supplies architects, interior designers and builders with linings and acoustic solutions for interior walls, ceilings, exterior facades and soffits. They also provide large format 3D colour printing.

Their architectural consultants and project managers work with clients upfront on the large range of possibilities, technical support, product specifications and making budgets work. Keystone is the largest fabrication facility in Australia for linings and acoustic solutions.
