Enterprise German competition winners to take home a $500 cash prize

MELBOURNE, Australia, November 1, 2018 - The Goethe-Institut will announce the winners of the Enterprise German competition at an awards ceremony in Melbourne on 9 November. This year, 75 groups of Year 9 and 10 students from 16 schools participated in the Australia-wide competition. In small groups, students learning German worked together to develop an innovative product, service and marketing idea for their partner company.

Anna-Lena Schenck, the Goethe-Institut’s Project Coordinator who organises the competition, is part of the jury who will decide this year’s winners. The jury consists of representatives from the Goethe-Institut, German Embassy, as well as the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

“Enterprise German is designed to promote collaboration between high schools and companies who have a connection to Germany. The competition not only appeals to the creativity and inventiveness of students, it also helps to improve their knowledge of German and gives them insight into the professional world. We are very impressed by the innovative ideas that all the students have developed this year. I’m excited that the winners will finally be announced at the award ceremony next week” said Anna-Lena Schenck.
