Equant Names New Head Of Professional Services For Australasia

Announcement posted by Equant 02 Jun 2003

Equant (NYSE: ENT) (Euronext Paris: EQU), a recognized industry leader in global IP and data services to multinational businesses, has named Andrew Marston head of Professional Services for Australasia. Marston will take over from Philip Wardley, who has moved to the position of head of Equant's Consulting Practice for Asia Pacific and Australasia.
For the past two years, Marston has been responsible for the management of the Marketing, Sales Operations and Channel teams in the Australasia region. Prior to the merger of Equant and Global One Communications in July 2001, Marston was Director, Business Solutions and Sales Support at Global One, where he managed a team of professionals focused on product and market development, sales support, sales engineering, and program and service management.
As head of Professional Services, Marston will use his extensive background in telecommunications and technology development to ensure that Equant continues to enable its customers to transform their business through seamless global communications solutions.
"Andrew has made a significant contribution to Equant's Australasian business and I look forward to the continuation of his energy, enthusiasm and dedication in his new role as head of Professional Services," said Richard Knott, managing director of Australasia, Equant
As the pressure to maximise existing IT budgets increase, multinational customers are demanding integrated end-to-end solutions that cover network infrastructure and data solutions, network service management and consulting. Equant is able to leverage more than 50 years' experience in data networking solutions to support these customers. One such customer is BHP Billiton, who appointed Equant in 2002 to provide project management, consulting and service management in addition to building an IP VPN network.
"Andrew brings a wealth of experience, expertise and commitment and I look forward to the continued growth of Equant's professional services under his leadership," said Ronald Ho, Equant's head of Professional Services for Asia Pacific and Australasia.
