New AR-based Fitness Game App Debuts On App Store

Announcement posted by Teknowledge software 07 Feb 2019

Jacob and Matt Timpano recently launched a brand new AR-based fitness game - called Football Go. Both the iOS and the Android versions of the app have been developed by Teksmobile.

The immensely successful Soccerman app has now got an exciting follow-up. Matt and Jacob Timpano have come up with an all-new, augmented reality (AR)-based fitness application - named Football Go - that seamlessly blends in activity tracking and goal accomplishments, with sheer footballing fun. Soccer fan or not, people are going to love this one - the Timpano brothers are quietly confident about that.

Designed and developed by Teksmobile - a mobile app company with a decade and a half of global industry presence - Football Go comes across as the next level in the domain of digital fitness applications. There are plenty of interesting features and elements - from ‘Lockers’ and ‘Stadiums’, to ‘Distance’ - to keep users hooked at all times. Hussain Fakhruddin, the veteran CEO of Teksmobile, feels that Football Go is a tool that puts a fresh new twist to fitness tracking and activity enhancements.

In a brief tête-à-tête, Matt Timpano - himself a highly experienced childhood industry expert - elaborated a bit on how the Football Go application works. The users are first given the option to select the number of steps they would like to cover. There are as many as 6 different target step options to select from (from 50 steps to 1000 steps) - and higher steps deliver more rewards (‘fruits’).

The unique gameplay of Football Go (in particular, the fun goalscoring challenges) bear testimony to Jacob Timpano’s (a former Aussie football player) creativity. New users get immediate, free access to 3 different stadiums. In each stadium, the objective is to beat the goalkeeper and score the maximum number of goals within the stipulated period of time. The fact that the goalkeepers get progressively proficient in each succeeding stadium adds an interesting twist, added Jacob.

Fitness meets footballing fun in a refreshingly unique manner in the new Football Go app. After completing the challenge in each stadium, a certain number of steps have to be covered, to unlock the next stadium. There is a built-in step counter that tracks the steps of the user. More the steps, greater the exercise!

The use of augmented reality tools and elements take up the fun factor of Football Go by several notches. There are 6 stadiums that can appear anytime, anywhere (the device camera has to be used for that) - while the AR backgrounds can be used to tweak the playing conditions/stadium conditions. There are several exciting power-ups (available through in-app purchase) - like Fire Ball, Energy Fruit and Super Boots - that make Football Go an immensely attractive football game in its own right.

While the merits of this cool new activity booster app are many, the Teksmobile CEO sounded a word of caution for its users. Since Football Go has an AR-based gameplay, users have to be responsible about using the application in safe surroundings. It’s a highly enjoyable app powered by cutting-edge AR technology, but the onus lies on general users to stay safe while using the application.

Football Go is currently available for download at the Apple App Store (compatible with iOS 9.0 and later) and the Google Play Store (compatible with Android 7.0 and later). This is a fun AR fitness game with a plethora of cool features - and it promises to be as successful as the Soccerman app. The Timpano Brothers have excelled...once again!
